Chairman
John studied at the college of Estate Management at Reading University, graduating in 1973 and then followed up with a Msc in 1977.
John became an equity partner at investment advisory specialists Goldstein Leigh in 1979, and founded Canadian and Portland in 1984. He also established his own investment agency, John Miles and Company, but decided to leave the agency side of the sector to concentrate on investment and development in 1995.
Chief Executive
Samantha studied Estates Management at Greenwich University from 1986 - 1989. Followed by qualifying as a chartered surveyor in 1992 whilst working at Miles Joiner Cummings.
Following a move to Speciality Shops, where she became Property Director. Samantha specialised in the asset management, acquisition and refurbishment of shopping centres throughout the UK. In 2000 she joined Canadian & Portland to manage and expand the portfolio through investment and redevelopment.
Finance Director
Mark is a Chartered Accountant who qualified in 1980. Having trained with a medium sized practice he then joined a niche practice in Epsom becoming a Partner at age 29. He has been Senior Partner at Williams & Co since 1990.
Mark acts for a number of property investors, developers and construction companies ensuring that they have meaningful reporting to enable the Boards to make decisions. This includes the ever important cashflow forecasting which is critical in today’s world. He has been regularly involved in assisting clients with bank funding and assisting with negotiation of banking covenants on their behalf.
Project Liaison Manager
Greg studied property planning and development at Kingston University at the turn of the millennium but left the course to establish his own fashion business in 2002. With Greg’s deep knowledge of Kingston he was asked to work with Canadian and Portland on their newly-established leisure development at Riverside Walk. Greg loved the challenge of working in the development and leisure sector and immersing himself in Kingston’s community. He is now Co-chair of Kingston First and a trustee of Kingston based charity Creative Youth.
Greg manages Riverside Walk and Bishops Palace House and represents Canadian and Portland in Kingston.
